Experiences

Munich Re
- Working on alitheia, a tool to automate risk assessment for life insurance.
- Building an automated back-testing framework to calculate success metrics of client retro data on recent versions of the
product. This aims to give clients insights into their benefits through alitheia. The tool also allows one to simulate outcomes
from custom changes in the logic.
- Using large language models to standardize third party text data.
CHILDREN's Hospital of Philadelphia
I'm working on a project to diagnose autism in children using physiological biomarkers during social interactions. Various machine learning algorithms are used to analyze metrics such as head movement and eye contact. Some of my contributions are:
- Extracted head dynamic information from videos and preprocessed this data
- Annotated thousands of videos for an eye contact detection project
- Worked on published paper, "Head Movement Patterns during Face-to-Face Conversations Vary with Age"
- Building end to end software pipeline to extract relevant computer vision data from experimental video

National University of Singapore
My research tackled the issue of human error in pharmaceutical medication dispensing. In my project, I worked on:
- A deep learning model to classify medications
- A Flask application to scan medications, run it in the above model, and display results
- A physical rig to scan pills in optimal lighting and background
- See code

Ted Talks
Augmented TED talk data with Twitter data to give each talk a “social id” + created full stack app that displays 15 TED talks given a user keyword.
Skills: DynamoDB, Apache Spark, Node.js, HTML/CSS/Bootstrap
Created a multi-page site where users pin their favorite restaurants on a public map and add descriptions. Updates in realtime. Includes user authentication and sign up.
Skills: Google Maps API, DynamoDB, AJAX, Node.js, HTML/CSS/Bootstrap

Pitching/Consulting
Helping the United Nations empower women with tech skills

Through The Knowledge Society (TKS), I had the wonderful opportunity of creating a proposal for the United Nations that increases womens’ access and influence over digital skills. My team and I designed a program that trains women in Dharavi, India (Asia’s largest slum) to gain an AWS Cloud Practitioner Certification. After our students complete this course, they will have the option to work for the branch of our program that provides cloud management services to external clients. In essence, the program not only gives women skills and salaries but also leaves a lasting impact due to its self-sustaining financial design. In addition to extensive research, my team and I also contacted nonprofit leaders and women in Dharavi to truly understand the location and gain their perspective on our solution..
Our proposal has been selected out of around 150 others to be sent to the United Nations for review and potential implementation.
Edukos - Digital Inclusion Challenge Top 10 (of 650)
After observing the lack of student engagement following remote learning, my team and I decided to change up the way education is delivered by designing a project based learning platform. Edukos is a way for students to manifest their curiosity through the process of exploring and devising solutions to real world problems. Projects are pertinent to relevant social issues/real world applications and can also be customizable by the teacher.

RAMP - Best application of AI | TKS AI Hackathon (of 108)
Wildfires are a huge issue in the West Coast, as well as other places in the world and will only grow with climate change. We decided to predict the motion of this high dimensional problem using deep learning - and the Realtime AI Movement Predictor was born. While it is still in a prototype stage now, we hope to improve it in the future!
Asfalis
Asfalis is a business concept me team and I created last year to tackle the prevalent issue of drug overdosage. We designed a locked pill bottle that connects to an app on the user's phone to give reminders for when to take the pill, as well as how much is remaining and when the bottle is next scheduled to unlock. Through this formative journey, our pitch reached the Diamond Challenge semifinals and Blue Ocean top 100.
